Elixir Trust Foundation (Formally Elixir Foundation) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization in Nigeria, West Africa working to promote human rights of vulnerable groups, gender equality, prevent violent extremism (PVE), create awareness about Health (Hepatitis, Communicable diseases, STI) issues despite limited access to resources while providing solutions to problems.

Elixir has been carrying a range of interventions in the areas of human and gender rights, education, health and tech, youth and women empowerment, emergency response, governance, and security reforms etc.

The type of activities undertaken by the organization range from advocacy to service delivery, with focus on the deprived and marginalized groups in the society. Whereas in terms of operations what characterizes Elixir’s functioning are its efforts to (a) enlist involvement of the locals/volunteers when initiating activities at the grass root level; (b) to mobilize women and youth to bring peace, tolerance, and development in society (c) research and documentation of human rights abuses (d) capacity building to promote respect for human rights and (e) partnership with other organizations to touch lives.

Elixir makes impact on lives through networking with national & international agencies, characterized by partnership with organizations like Network on Police Reform in Nigeria (NOPRIN Foundation), Action Group on Free Civic Space, National CSO Forum on Detention and correctional Centers, Association Against Child, sexual & Gender Based Violence (AACSGBV), World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA), Civil Society Network on Hepatitis, NYNETHA, amongst other organizations.

Elixir Trust Foundation was founded on the 15 th of February, 2019 and is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT/NO.154288) in 2020.

Aim & Objectives

To promote peace and nation building through implementation of SDG goals. Enlighten the people on the option of Alternative dispute resolution, diplomacy in handling issues to mitigate crises in the society.
To bring together the public and private sector to fight health challenges especially Hepatitis and STI, HIV/AIDs. Create awareness about the relevance of healthy environment and early check-up in our communities.
To encourage civic education and to engage the government on programs to ensure equitable access to service delivery.
To aid access to justice for victims of abuses and contribute to the reform of the criminal justice sector.
To create an enabling environment to develop skill sets that are useful to the society and oneself. To establish youth friendly centers and aid access to employment, empowerment for youths and PWDs as well as safe spaces for women.

Vision

We envisage a state free from human right abuses, nepotism, and injustice through sensitization, education and empowerment.

Our Mission

To ensure respect for human rights for citizens through sensitization, education and training to improve the quality of life in the society.

Target Groups (Vulnerable Groups)

Youths & Children, Women & Girls, Persons with disability (PWD), IDPs & Refugees, Law Enforcement Agents (Police, Correctional Officers, Paramilitary etc).
